Happy Easter!!

I know, I know, Easter was forEVER ago, but I had some major technical problems last month, and that's why there hasn't been any updates. First the weather, which isn't really technical, but it did mean I couldn't walk to the internet cafe, and then my computer broke and was out sick in someone's Apple office for two weeks. But anyway, here we are, back again, and I'm going to update like crazy!! Ok, maybe not tonight, because I'm exhausted, but soon. Tonight, we'll just do Easter... It was freezing, of course. And I mean ice cold, but we decided to stick to our original plan of a picnic at Cape Henlopen anyway. So we colored the eggs, made the cookies, the cole slaw, the sandwiches, and got some non-alcoholic wine and headed out into the Arctic. We snuggled on a picnic bench out of the wind and ate as fast as we could, then we found a grove of pine trees where we hid the easter eggs. Joaquin found them all right away and put them all in his sand bucket. Then we ran back to the car and cranked up the heat. Back at home he opened his Easter basket, which I themed "art". Probably a little premature, but who cares, right? So Joaquin tore everything up and them spent the rest of the afternoon (ok, more like five minutes) eating candy. All in all, it was a perfect first Easter. And I mean that with all of my heart. =)

Tubby

Joaquin's favorite part of tubby time is after I drain the water, and take his toys out. Then he slips and slides around and slurps up water from the drain. He really doesn't want to get out! By the time he's done playing, he doesn't even need a towel because he's already dry...

More Zoo

We went to the zoo today, but it was more like a walking trail with flamingos and mandarin ducks in cages. Joaquin had a good time but I think he liked the pinecones the best.

Books! Ba Ba Ba!

JOAQUIN LOVES TO READ BOOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The first thing he does in the morning is race out to the bookshelf and tear through the books. He turns the pages and talks to himself and squeals like a little pig. I must read him 20 books a day and he just sits all quiet and curled up in my lap. Doesn't he look so cute!!?

Chillin' at the Airport

We missed our flight because I took too long to fix my hair, plus we stopped at McDonalds, plus there wasn't anyone to help me, blah, blah, whatever we had fun wasting time until the next flight (after I cried hysterically as I watched our plane retract the walkway). We played in the airport playground, where Joaquin followed all of the big kids around and stole an old man's book. Then we lunch at Friday's where I had a sangria (p.s. do they even put alcohol in the drinks??! I mean, come on!) and Joaquin ate some broccoli cheese soup. Then it was time for our flight. Good times but next time I bring a baby on a plane I'm bringing an entourage to help.
