Sullivan Island

It's the same ocean, but some new sand for Joaquin Lyn...

Back Porch

Well, it's actually a deck but Joaquin loves it just the same! He spends hours walking back and forth, pushing all of the plastic chairs and tables around, and pretty much having a blast.

Vroom!

Joaquin's favorite thing about going shopping is all of the fun rides he gets to try! Tiny merry-go-rounds, police cars, racers...mama always has to have quarters in her purse!

Go Fly a Kite

As you can see by out hats, coats and scarves, the warm weather didn't last. Oh well, it was still a lovely day for a Kite Festival!

No shirt, no shoes...

It was warm enough to go shirtless at the beach!!!!! OK, some people should have def kept their shirts ON, but I guess everyone was just so excited for the warm weather!! Yay for hotness!!!!

Baby Signing Time

Joaquin doesn't watch much tv (although today he watched an entire episode of Everyday Italian with me) but he loves Baby Signing Time. He stands by the tv in the morning, puts his hand on the opening to the dvd player and says, "uh-uh-uh" until I put it in. He understands (and can make some of) the signs for bird, dog, juice, food, more, and water. He'll just be sitting in his high-chair eating breakfast, when a seagull will start squaking. He gets this look in his eye and then both of his little hands start going, "birdie! birdie!". It's the sweetest thing...

Redi-Whipped

Joaquin just learned how to get the redi-whip from the can to his mouth. Now he only needs me to open the fridge...

A Visit to Aqua

We went to the National Aquarium in D.C. this afternoon. We tried to go at the "recommened" time to avoid the crowds, but apparently the entire tri-state area was also trying to "avoid the crowds". Oh well, it was still good times, clutching each other, holding hands, panicking when a old, Italian grandma broke our chain, and we lost each other for a minute. We saw the dolphin show and got soaked when a dolphin paused in front of us, dove down on it's dolphin head, and used it's tail to splash a 20 foot wave, that somehow landed almost completely on poor, unassumming Joaquin. It was seriously funny (for us at least) and we got seriously soaked. Like I said, good times were had by all!
